Juventus beat Fabregas’s Como 3-0 in Motta’s Serie A debut

Juventus kicked off their Serie A campaign with a 3-0 win over Como, marking a successful start to Thiago Motta’s era as head coach.

Despite an inconsistent pre-season and the absence of key players like Federico Chiesa and Federico Kostić, Juventus looked sharp.

20-year-old Samuel Mbangula, a surprise starter, made a huge impact in the game, alongside goals from Tim Weah and Andrea Cambiaso.

Mbangula opened the scoring in the first half. Cutting inside from the left, he curled a right-footed shot into the far corner of Como’s post.

Juventus doubled their lead just before halftime through a clever dummy by Dušan Vlahović, which allowed Weah to fire home his first Serie A goal, smashing the ball in off the crossbar from 13 yards.

The Bianconeri continued to dominate in the second half, with Vlahović’s header finding the net only to be disallowed by VAR for offside.

He remained a constant threat, hitting the post twice and testing Como’s goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

Cambiaso eventually sealed the win in stoppage time, cutting in from the right to place a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.
