Yvonne Jegede’s opinions were not pressured, paid-appearance – Nedu
Media personality, Nedu criticizes the Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede over their disagreement about podcast outcomes while making shocking revelations about her appearance on show.
It would be recalled that Yvonne Jegede’s comments on Yul Edochie’s polygamy sparked outrage among the actor’s first wife’s supporters and women who found her remarks offensive.
During a podcast with Nedu and the Honest Bunch crew, Yvonne Jegede remarked on netizens supporting Regina Daniels’ billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko, while criticizing Yul Edochie for taking a second wife.
Following the backlash from the show, Jegede apologized to her fans and May Edochie, who many believed was the target of her comments.
Nedu, however, disapproved of Jegede’s apology, criticizing her for not standing by her words.
In response, Yvonne Jegede revealed that Nedu had frequently messaged her, expressing his admiration and asking her to hang out with him.
Nedu responded with a press statement disputing Jegede’s claim that the show was not related to her new movie. He acknowledged the public reaction to her comments and clarified that she was not coerced into making any statements during the podcast.
He also stated that the show’s producers are not responsible for any opinions or positions shared by Yvonne Jegede during the show, urging her to stop name-calling. Nedu added that it was Yvonne who had contacted their team to promote her new movie.
The statement reads;
“It has come to our attention that a recent guest on The Honest Bunch podcast, Yvonne Jegede, has resorted to publishing insulting and defamatory material on social media, following what appears to be public outcry against personal thoughts and positions shared by said guest on the show.
We would like to make it clear that Yvonne Jegede was not pressured to make any statements on the podcast, and that neither Nedu nor the producers of The Honest Bunch, nor Glitch Africa Studio, takes any responsibility for personal thoughts and positions shared by Yvonne Jegede.
We would also like to state clearly that Yvonne Jegede appeared on The Honest Bunch as part of her publicity drive for her upcoming movie. While this was a paid-appearance, it does not in any way afford Yvonne Jegede the right to defame or slander Nedu or the producers of The Honest Bunch.
We strongly advise Yvonne Jegede in good faith to desist from further aggravation, personal attacks, name-calling and vituperation.
