Yusuf yet to recover, tipped to miss Super Eagles clash against Guinea-Bissau
Alhassan Yusuf is yet to recover from the injury picked in Nigeria’s opening Africa Cup of Nations game against Equatorial Guinea.
He is set to miss the Super Eagles’ last Group A match against Guinea-Bissau scheduled to take place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Monday.
Recall Yusuf had earlier alleged he will return for the clash against Ivory Coast, only to be ruled out 24 hours before the game, following the thigh injury.
Despite his efforts to recover for the upcoming encounter, the Royal Antwerp midfielder has not fully healed and will not be available for the clash against Guinea-Bissau, as confirmed by Completesports.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles currently hold the second spot in Group A with four points from two games.
With just one point needed from their last match, Jose Peseiro’s side is in a strong position to secure a spot in the next round of the tournament.
