“You’re going to create problems for us” – French PM Macron teases Mbappe

French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron has teased Kylian Mbappe at a royal reception hosted by the Emir of Qatar.

Macron jokingly told the Paris Saint-Germain forward, “You’re going to create problems for us,” in reference to Mbappé’s rumoured transfer to Real Madrid.

Mbappe, who has been a key target for Real Madrid, was among the guests at the dinner that also had top French-Qatari business figures in attendance.

The event was part of the Emir’s visit to France, during which he announced an investment of €10 billion in French infrastructure.

During the reception, Macron praised Mbappe’s performance in the 2022 World Cup, describing it as “extraordinary,” reports Football Espana.

He also hailed the tournament as a whole, calling it the best yet, while recalling memorable moments.

Macron’s relationship with Mbappe dates back to 2022, after reports emerged that Macron had discussions with the player about his future.

The result allegedly moved Mbappe to renew his contract with PSG, rejecting an offer from Real Madrid.

But despite the rumours this time around, Macron seemed to take a more relaxed approach, letting the player make his own decision without trying to influence it.
