Yahaya Bello establishes committee to launch new University in Okun

Yahaya Bello, the governor of KOGI state, has appointed a 17-member committee to launch a state university in Okun, the state’s Kogi West Senatorial District.

The proposed state college, which will be the third state-possessed college, as indicated by Bello, is a move informed by decency, value and populism to individuals of Okunland.

The governor instructed the committee to ensure swift action so that the university could immediately begin academic activities.
The governor blasted the fact that, despite having more than 600 professors, the Okun land had not yet received a university, rejecting the claim that establishing a university there is political.

No matter how political it may be, no one will be able to erase the fact that I led the establishment of a university in Okun land.

However, he stated that it is his dream to enroll the first class of university students before he retires in January 2024.

“I congratulate the people of Okun Land and Kogi State on the realization of a dream. Let me assure you that, by God’s grace, I will enroll the first class at this university. I ask you to help me realize my dream.
