World’s most accurate clock for sale

Japan has unveiled the Aether Clock OC 020, the world’s most precise timekeeping device, now available for $3.3 million.

Developed by Kyoto-based Shimadzu Corp, the cutting-edge strontium optical lattice clock is 100 times more accurate than the caesium atomic clocks currently used to define time.

With an unmatched precision, the clock deviates by just one second in 10 billion years.

Despite its advanced technology, it resembles a compact refrigerator, measuring about one meter in height with a 250-liter volume.

Designed for scientific research, the clock is expected to aid in fields such as tectonic activity observation.

Shimadzu aims to sell 10 units over the next three years, targeting institutions requiring ultra-precise timekeeping.
