World Cup: Vincent Aboubakar scores a beautiful goal as Cameroon draws 3-3 with Serbia
Cameroon kept its world cup dream alive after fighting back from two goals down to earn a 3-3 draw against Serbia in their second match at the tournament on Monday, November 28.
Cameroon took the lead just before the half-hour mark through Jean-Charles Castelletto. He turned home at the far post for his nation’s first goal at a World Cup finals since 2014.
Serbia, who were tipped to impress at this year’s world cup, went 2-1 up in added time in the first half, thanks to a late flurry. Strahinja Pavlovic looped a header over Epassy from a Dusan Tadic free-kick before Sergej Milincovic-Savic put Dragan Stojkovic’s side ahead.
After the break, Aleksandar Mitrovic made it 3-1 after finishing off a lovely team move.
However, the Indomitable Lions roared back thanks to substitute, Vincent Aboubakar’s beautiful, superb lob and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s equalizer.
Both Cameroon and Serbia picked up their first point in Group G following the draw, ahead of a game between Brazil and Switzerland later in the day.
After facing Serbia, Cameroon has the unenviable task of coming up against Brazil in their third and final game of the group stage.
