World Cup Break: Arsenal extends lead on Premier League table with 2-0 win over Wolves
Arsenal FC solidified their spot on top of the Premier League table with a 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday night.
The win which precedes a World Cup break, gave the London-based side a five-point lead over Manchester City in the English Premier League 2022-23 season. Manchester City lost at home to Brentford earlier in the day.
Arsenal’s captain, Martin Odegaard’s goals in the 55th and 75th minutes gave them the win.
Mikel Arteta’s team is a genuine contender, grinding out a 12th victory in 14 matches with a performance that demonstrated their steel and composure.
Arsenal has not won the Premier League since its 2003-04 title when it was dubbed “The Invincibles” for going an entire season without defeat.
