Wizkid dedicates forthcoming sixth studio album to late mother
Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, announces that his sixth studio album will be dedicated to his late mother, Jane Morayo Balogun.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker made the announcement in a video message shared on his social media on Saturday.
He revealed that the album, titled ‘Morayo’ in honor of his mother, will be released “very soon.”
Wizkid while stepping out of a private jet said, “My album ‘Morayo’, dedicated to my mum, the love of my life, drops very soon. Don’t dull. Don’t sleep.”
It would be recalled that Wizkid’s mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, passed away on August 18, 2023, in London after which she was buried in Nigeria; a dark moment for the singer and his family.
Wizkid expressed that the pain of losing his mother “hurts deeply.” He added, “The pain is profound.”
