Wike reacts to Rivers political crisis, says “Fubara inviting anarchy, violence”
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reacted to the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State while publicly accusing Governor Siminalayi Fubara of ignoring a court ruling.
Wike’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions between the two political leaders, as he expressed concern over Fubara’s apparent disregard for judicial authority.
Wike made this statement on Tuesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He accused Fubara of inviting anarchy and violence into the state.
He said, “I was a governor, I have always obeyed the rule of law. You heard the governor say that our state is turning into a state of anarchy where people do not obey the rule of law.
“You must obey the judgment of the court. You must not take the law into your own hands. The moment you don’t obey court judgment, you are inviting anarchy, you are inviting violence,” Wike said.
Wike also accused Fubara of publicly declaring on national television that he would not comply with a court judgment.
The minister also criticized his successor for his comments regarding the police providing security for the local government election in Rivers State.
Recall that Fubara who was featured on the same program on Monday denied being the problem of the state.
He also raised concerns after President Bola Tinubu called him to order without mentioning the name of Wike in his statement.
