Why I stopped shooting music videos for Asake – TG Omori opens up

TG Omori has surprised Nigerians as he opens up on the reason he suddenly stopped shooting music videos for Asake.

The renowned Nigerian music director in a recent interview on the Zero Condition podcast, shared the reasons behind his decision to quit shooting music videos for the singer.

The collaboration between TG and Asake started with the hit track “Organize” in 2022. However, rumours began circulating when Asake worked with another director for his latest music videos.

During the interview, TG Omori emphasized that he respected Asake’s decision to work with different directors.

He highlighted the belief of Olamide, the musician and CEO of YBNL record label, in giving opportunities to various talents.

TG expressed his admiration for Olamide’s inclusive approach, stating that it would be unjust to hold it against him.

He also acknowledged the success of the new director Asake chose to work with, appreciating Olamide’s commitment to nurturing creativity in the industry.

TG Omori emphasized the professionalism and longevity of his relationship with Olamide and the YBNL record label.

He mentioned their history and the trust Olamide placed in him by giving him opportunities to showcase his talent. TG praised Olamide’s support for other directors, acknowledging that he had worked with different individuals before collaborating with TG.

He concluded by expressing his unwavering loyalty to Olamide and YBNL, emphasizing that he did not take Asake’s decision personally and understood the business aspect of their relationship.

In his words; “Even husband and wife dey divorce, people do have a break. I think we have done enough, we have done like 12 videos. We are still very cool. You know it is a business and at the end of the day, you have to respect your client’s decisions.

“I like when artistes have the freedom to try out new things. I don’t want because we are guys you must shoot with me. I don’t know why that happened.

“To me it is crazy love because me and YBNL are forever. And you know how me and Olamide ‘go like way back’, and Olamide is a type that makes sure that everybody eats. And before I came, he was working with other directors and he gave me the opportunity to also do my thing.

“So he’s working with a very creative guy now. A very good guy that’s doing well too. That’s Olamide for you. And if I take that personal, then I have messed up.”
