Why bullion vans were sighted at Tinubu’s house in 2019 — APC
The All Progressives Congress, APC, gives clarity on why bullion vans were spotted at Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s house on the eve of the 2019 presidential election.
During an interview on Arise TV Thursday morning, APC’s organising secretary, Ayodele Adewale stated that the vans missed their way and weren’t invited by Bola Tinubu.
This, however, counters Tinubu’s claim where he told reporters that truly the vans contained money but not ballot papers while addressing the press in 2019.
“Bullion vans? Are those ballot papers? Excuse me, is it my money or government money? I don’t work for government.”
“I am not in (any) agency of government. Let anybody come out to say I have taken any contract from the government of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last five years.”
Tinubu added, “They should prove it. I am on my own, and I am committed to my party. So, even if I have money to spend on my premises. What is your headache?”
Mr Adewale, however, insisted that the former Lagos governor was only jesting when he made the statement.
