“Where will he get that money?” – VDM’s lawyer reacts to Mercy Chinwo’s N1.1 billion lawsuit

The legal representative of social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has reacted to the N1.1 billion defamation lawsuit filed against his client by gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.

Mercy Chinwo had taken legal action against VDM over alleged defamatory statements concerning her dispute with her former label boss, Eezee Tee.

She demanded a public apology, the deletion of all accusations, and financial compensation of N1.1 billion.

She also requested that VDM appear in court within 14 days.

Reacting to the lawsuit, VDM’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to mock the claims, questioning where his client could possibly raise such an amount.

“I heard somebody sued VDM for N1.1 billion, and I laughed so hard. What I know is that VDM does not have N100k anywhere in the world to give anyone. People just be wasting their time for nothing,” Adeyanju wrote.
