Vinicius Junior becomes club owner with purchase of Portuguese side FC Alverca

Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has become a co-owner of Portuguese club FC Alverca, following in the footsteps of Kylian Mbappe.

Vinicius joins a consortium of Spanish and Brazilian investors in acquiring a majority stake in the team.

Alverca confirmed the takeover, revealing that former owner Ricardo Vicintin sold his controlling share, though details about Vinicius’ financial contribution and partners remain undisclosed.

The club are currently second in the Liga Portugal 2, pushing for promotion to the top-flight Primeira Liga.

Founded in 1939, Alverca previously played in Portugal’s top division but faced financial struggles in 2005, which affected it progression.

Vinicius follows Mbappe, who became the majority shareholder of French side Stade Malherbe Caen last year.
