Vinicius Junior abusers bag eight-month sentence for racism

Racial abusers of Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, have reportedly been handed eight-month sentence each.

Recall the Brazilian star had called out racial abuse that he received from the stands in Mestalla in May of 2023 during a La Liga match.

Three fans identified as responsible for making monkey noises targeted at the player have now been punished.

They have each been handed an eight-month sentence in a landmark ruling, confirmed Football Espana.

Meanwhile, Vinicius has since maintained top form for the Spanish Champions, leading Carlo Ancelotti’s team to Champions League victory earlier this month.

His fine form this season has been reckoned with by his teammates at Real Madrid and Brazil, with many tipping him to win the next Ballon d’Or award.

Vinicius is part of the Brazilian side set to participate in the 2024 Copa America hosted by the United States.

If Brazil wins the tournament starting June 21, it will boost his chances of claiming the prestigious Ballon d’Or title.
