Villarreal eye Marcelino Toral as new manager, with decision expected during International break
Villarreal are currently exploring the possibility of engaging Marcelino Garcia Toral, after parting ways with Pacheta, Gistreel reports.
The sack of coach Pacheta, marks their second managerial change this season, despite a recent win against Maccabi Haifa.
The Groquets sacked Quique Setien, the manager before Pacheta back in September.
The club now seem poised for a fresh start, with the former Marseille manager emerging as the front-runner to take over.
Discussions between Villarreal and Marcelino are reportedly in an advanced stage. He also previously managed Villarreal from 2013 to 2016.
However, any official announcement is expected after Villarreal’s upcoming clash with Atletico Madrid on Sunday, allowing the in coming manager time to potentially take charge during the international break.
