UPDATE : Man at JAMB CBT Centre who stole 15-year-old girl’s number from the system to chat with her arrested

A Nigerian man who works at a JAMB CBT Centre has been arrested for allegedly stealing the phone number of a 15-year-old girl and subsequently misusing it.

The incident came to light when the mother of the girl raised the alarm after her 15-year-old daughter received unsolicited messages from the accused staff member.

The accused, who was entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the JAMB registration process, reportedly seized the opportunity to steal the contact details of the 15-year-old candidate.

The aggrieved mother, who had used her own phone number to register her daughter for the examination, was shocked when she discovered that a staff member from the examination center had been engaging in inappropriate communication with her daughter.

The mother took to social media to expose the misconduct, pointing out that the staff member continued the conversation despite being reminded of the candidate’s age.

In response to the public outcry and the gravity of the allegations, the authorities swiftly took action.

Reports indicate that the JAMB staff member involved in the incident, along with an alleged accomplice, has been arrested.
