Unai Emery sings Aston Villa praises in FA Cup win over Tottenham

Aston Villa advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup after a 2-1 win over Tottenham in the fourth round of the competition.

Villa head coach Unai Emery expressed his delight with the performance, emphasizing the importance of the win.

“I am very happy. It was a fantastic match against a very good team, and we played really well.

“After a long time, we are through to the fifth round of the FA Cup. I know how much this competition means to our fans and to us, and I am happy for them,” Emery said.

The Spanish coach praised his team’s confidence and character, recalling how well they executed their game plan.

“Our game was more or less in line with our plan. We dominated and played well,” he added.

Emery also discussed the squad’s depth, noting the importance of maintaining players in good physical condition until the end of the season.

“In the coming weeks, some footballers will return. We also have players like Doniell Malen, Andres Garcia, Marco Asensio, and Marcus Rashford – I hope we can build a team with the structure we want to create,” he said.

Aston Villa will now shift their focus to their next Premier League fixture while awaiting their fifth-round FA Cup opponent.
