UCL: Kane bags four as Bayern thrash Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 to open campaign
Bayern Munich delivered a masterclass at the Allianz Arena, destroying Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in the UEFA Champions League, with Harry Kane scoring four.
The hosts were in control from the start, with Bayern’s dominance leading to early goals being disallowed for offside.
However, Kane broke the deadlock from the penalty spot after Aleksandar Pavlović conceded a foul in the box.
Bayern soon doubled their lead as Jamal Musiala set up Raphaël Guerreiro for a stunning strike from the edge of the area.
Michael Olise added a third before halftime, heading home from a quick corner routine.
Dinamo Zagreb briefly fought back, with Bruno Petković and Takuya Ogiwara scoring within a minute of each other early in the second half, reducing the deficit to 3-2.
Undeterred Bayern quickly regained control, with Kane scoring from a rebound and adding two more penalties, cementing his place as the star of the night.
Michael Olise added his second goal, while Leroy Sané and Leon Goretzka rounded off the scoring in the final minutes.
