UCL: Arsenal end group stage with 1-1 draw against PSV
Arsenal and PSV played out a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night’s Champions League clash, to mark the conclusion of the group stage.
Going into the game, both teams had nothing to lose, having already secured their spots in the last 16.
The Dutch league leaders, PSV, dominated the chances in the first half, putting consistent pressure on Arsenal.
However, it was the Gunners who struck first, as Eddie Nketiah found the back of the net in the 42nd minute.
PSV responded almost immediately after the break, with Yorbe Vertessen leveling the score just five minutes into the second half.
Despite the equalizer, PSV continued to create better chances in the later stages of the match, but failed to convert any.
Highlight of the match came in the last ten minutes when Jakub Kiwior thought he had secured a late winner, but the goal was disallowed.
The decision was based on Gabriel being deemed offside and interfering with play from Martin Odegaard’s free-kick.
