UCL: Arsenal denied late penalty in thrilling 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich

Arsenal were denied late penalty in their 2-2 draw encounter against Bayern Munich, with Bukayo Saka visibly frustrated with the referee’s decision.

The on-field referee decided not to award Arsenal a penalty in stoppage time, even when replays indicated that Manuel Neuer had fouled Saka inside the box.

Despite protests from Arsenal players, including Saka, the referee’s decision stood, leaving the Gunners aggrieved.

Saka, who had earlier scored a brilliant goal to open the scoring for Arsenal in the quarter-final game, was visibly upset as he approached the referee to question the call, which VAR did not review.

While Saka took the early lead, Bayern equalized minutes later through Serge Gnabry.

Harry Kane then put the visitors ahead with a penalty, only for Leandro Trossard’s smart equalizer to keep Arsenal’s Champions League hopes alive.
