“Trust the process” – Enzo Maresca vows to fight for titles at Chelsea

Chelsea’s new manager Enzo Maresca has vowed to lead the Blues in a title charge in the upcoming campaign.

The Italian coach in a media chat with Chelsea emphasized the importance of creating the right culture within the team.

“I consider Chelsea one of the biggest clubs in the world so I will feel very proud of it.

“One of the reasons I’m here is because I’m convinced the squad is very good and full of talent.

“The most important thing now is we’re able to create the right culture that drives us for the season.

“We are going to try our best to be there, to fight and compete with the clubs that in this moment are winning and fighting to win titles,” Maresca stated.

His tenure will begin with a big test against Manchester City on Sunday, August 18, at Stamford Bridge.

This match will see Maresca face his former boss, Pep Guardiola, under whom he served as assistant coach at City.

The Blues are starting their campaign with a new manager for the third consecutive season, following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure after a sixth-place finish last season.

Maresca joins Chelsea after a successful stint at Leicester City, where he led the team to the Championship title and an immediate return to the Premier League.
