Troost-Ekong reveals Victor Osimhen’s Chelsea dream
William Troost-Ekong has disclosed that Victor Osimhen is a lifelong Chelsea fan, who hopes to join the English side in the near future.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray, was reportedly close to joining Chelsea during the summer transfer window but failed to reach an agreement with the Blues.
However, Troost-Ekong’s revelation could reignite the possibility of a transfer.
“I can tell you he’s a Chelsea fan, I can confirm that,” Troost-Ekong revealed during an interview with talkSPORT.
The defender also lauded Osimhen’s on-field display and leadership qualities, describing him as a standout player and an asset to any team.
“He’s a great teammate. In front of goal, he can be very greedy, but he’s someone who speaks up for the team in the changing room.
“He’s a real leader, and I’m sure he’ll be captain soon,” Troost-Ekong added.
Reflecting on Osimhen’s journey with the Super Eagles, Troost-Ekong recalled his impressive debut in 2019 as an understudy to Odion Ighalo, stating, “During the training, we were so impressed.”
While club’s like Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing to move for the forward in January, Chelsea, who arguably are in good shape currently, might be a good attraction for the African best player.
