Transfer: ‘New Luka Modric’ Martin Baturina rejects Real Madrid move
Dinamo Zagreb’s promising midfielder Martin Baturina, often dubbed the “new Luka Modric,” has reportedly declined a move to Real Madrid.
The 21-year-old, recognized for his composure in midfield and growing influence with Croatia’s national team, had been viewed as a potential successor to Modric at the Bernabeu.
According to Sky Germany, Real Madrid extended a five-year contract offer to Baturina with a proposal to loan him out to another La Liga team for two years.
However, Baturina was reportedly dissatisfied with the loan provision, preferring a more immediate role within the first team.
This factor led him to reject Madrid’s offer, reports Football Espana.
While Real Madrid may revisit the prospect of signing Baturina in 2025, the young midfielder may still insist on his wish of first team selection.
