Transfer: Barcelona target Arsenal’s Thomas Partey for summer window

Barcelona have shown a “concrete interest” in signing Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey as they prepare for the summer transfer window.

According to CaughtOffside, the Catalan club are expected to make a few key additions under new manager Hansi Flick, with sporting director Deco prioritizing a left winger and a right-back.

However, the midfield was not initially a position they planned to strengthen, given their depth with Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, Marc Casado, and Pablo Torre.

That stance could change if de Jong leaves, which, despite speculation, remains unlikely at this stage.

In such a scenario, Barcelona would prefer a low-cost replacement due to their ongoing financial struggles—making Partey an attractive option, especially as his contract at Arsenal expires at the end of the season.

Partey, 30, has had a strong season for Arsenal, proving to be one of their most reliable players when fit.

His La Liga experience with Atletico Madrid could make him a viable addition to Flick’s squad.

However, Juventus are also monitoring his situation and could compete for his signature.
