‘Hamster Kombat’ Telegram game gears up for token airdrop, sets cutoff date for rewards
Hamster Kombat, a leading tap-to-earn crypto game on Telegram, has announced that the first season of its in-game rewards will conclude on September 20.
This update comes ahead of the game’s highly anticipated token launch and airdrop, scheduled for next week.
As detailed on the game’s in-app screen, players are reminded that “Season 1 ends on September 20,” and that their progress and achievements will be converted into the game’s HMSTR tokens.
Players are encouraged to level up before the deadline to maximise their earnings.
The game’s developers have already outlined the specific in-game criteria that will determine how the token allocations are distributed.
In a recent community post on Telegram, the Hamster Kombat team shared that a snapshot of players’ in-game achievements will be taken at 6 pm UTC on September 20.
However, the team also reassured players that a second season of rewards will follow after the airdrop, allowing continued participation.
The HMSTR token will officially launch on The Open Network (TON) on September 26, with players being given the opportunity to claim their tokens via an airdrop.
According to previous reports, Hamster Kombat has an impressive user base of over 300 million players, with Telegram data indicating 94 million active users in the last month alone, making it the most popular game on the platform by far.
However, the excitement surrounding the token launch also raises concerns for the TON network. Past experiences with token drops, including a smaller one in August, caused significant downtime on the network, leading to fears that the large-scale Hamster Kombat airdrop could cause similar disruptions.
Developers at TON Core acknowledged the possibility of technical issues due to the upcoming HMSTR and Catizen’s CATI token launches on September 20, which could place further strain on the network.
