“Tinubu supporting Wike in efforts to destabilise Fubara’s govt” — Asari Dokubo
Former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo has expressed his disappointment regarding President Bola Tinubu’s support for Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister.
Dokubo believes that this backing is aimed at destabilizing the leadership and governance of Sim Fubara in Rivers State.
Dokubo, who spoke on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, alleged that President Tinubu has permitted Wike to operate unchecked, claiming that this has allowed Wike to manipulate the judicial system to destabilize the peace in Rivers State.
He expressed concern that such actions could lead to increased tension and conflict in the region, undermining efforts for stability and development.
Dokubo urged for accountability and a reassessment of political alliances that threaten the well-being of the state.
The ex-militant said he’s not seeking any personal or selfish interests from President Tinubu.
According to him, he feels totally disappointed as a stakeholder in Rivers State with what’s happening in the state.
He said: “And what is happening in Rivers State where President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is supporting Nyesom Wike to destabilise Rivers State, to disturb the peace of Rivers State.
“And as a stakeholder in Rivers State, I feel disappointed, totally disappointed for the president to allow his minister serving under him to run amok, procure judgement and all sorts, threatening the people of Rivers State because what they are trying to do is, ‘we are going to remove Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and nothing will happen.’
“And I am saying that if you remove Fubara, something will happen. That is it. That is what I’m talking about. I’m not talking of any personal benefit. I cannot be appointed minister.”
