Tinubu appoints NASC chairman, members of National assembly service commission

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of the Chairman and 12 members of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC).

According to reports, the announcement was made in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

The statement confirmed that Dr. Saviour Enyiekere has been appointed as Chairman of the NASC for a renewable five-year term. Before his appointment, Enyiekere, an environmental specialist, served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Senate President.

Additionally, President Tinubu approved the appointment of two members from each of the six geopolitical zones, bringing the total to 12 members.

The appointees include:

  • North West: Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi and Hon. Yusuf A. Yusuf Tabuka
  • North East: Aminu Ibrahim Malle and Alhaji Lawan Maina Mahmud
  • North Central: Mark Hanmation Tersoo and Salihu Umar Agboola Balogun
  • South West: Hon. Taiwo Olukemi Oluga and Hon. Afeez Ipeza-Balogun
  • South East: Hon. Nnanna Uzor Kalu and Festus Ifesinachi Odii
  • South South: Patrick Giwa and Mrs. Mary Ekpenyong

The statement further noted that each appointee will serve for a renewable term of five years.

Like the chairperson, members of the Commission shall hold office for a renewable term of five years,” it stated.
