“The ancestors revealed everything to their women before patriarchy” – Ugezu Ugezu reveals
Popular filmmaker and actor, Ugezu Ugezu has discussed the stark contrast between the majority of contemporary and ancestral women.
According to him, the ladies of Nigeria were told everything by their ancestors.
Ugezu said that, in contrast to popular belief, the Nigerian forefathers truly valued their wives.
He also revealed that Nigerian ancestors had already granted their women political power, long before patriarchal invaders began to wonder what to do with their women.
But he claims that when contemporary women made the decision to reveal the masquerade’s secret, everything changed.
In his words: “Our Ancestors revealed everything to their women. Contrary to what liars will make you believe, our ancestors loved their women so highly that even before patriarchal invaders figured out what to do with their women, our ancestors already gave their women political power.
