Ten Hag criticizes Man United flops after humiliating pre-season defeat
Erik ten Hag did not hold back on in his criticism of Manchester United after their pre-season opener ended in a 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg in Norway.
Despite the match being a friendly, Ten Hag was displeased with his team’s performance, labeling it as “not good enough.”
The game saw United field an understrength squad, but notable players like Marcus Rashford, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jonny Evans, Casemiro, and Mason Mount were part of the first-half lineup.
Ten Hag, who recently extended his contract with the club, expressed his frustration post-match.
“The performance is below standard. It is by far not good enough. It is not the standard for top football,” Ten Hag stated.
“I know we cannot be match fit at this stage and we played an opponent with much higher fitness levels, still we are Manchester United and players from Manchester United should play better.”
The match was decided by an injury-time goal from Rosenborg’s Noah Holm, capitalizing on United’s lackluster display.
