“Tell Tinubu to lift his knees off the neck of Nigerians so that the people can breathe” — PDP tells APC

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, to tell President Bola Tinubu to lift his knees off the neck of Nigerians so that the people can breathe.

The party was reacting to a claim by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, that opposition parties are instigating unsuspecting young Nigerians to embark on protest across the country, stating that the party should admit that it has failed Nigerians and find solutions to the hardship being suffered by its citizens.

However, APC in a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, claimed that the protests that broke out in Niger and Kano States on Monday over the present economic crisis were orchestrated by opposition parties.

Reacting, PDP in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba said, “It is sad that in all of these, President Tinubu is missing in action as he holidays in France at the expense of the Nigerian treasury.

“The APC must understand and come to terms with the fact that there is frustration in the land because of the suffocating economic and social policies; laidback attitude to security and massive corruption in the Tinubu administration.

“Instead of being hypocritical by pointing fingers at the opposition, the APC should admit the failure of its policies and take urgent and concrete action to get President Tinubu to lift his knees off the neck of Nigerians so that the people can breathe.”
