Suspended Rivers Governor Fubara reportedly takes refuge in Bayelsa Govt House

Embattled Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reportedly relocated to the Bayelsa State Government House following his removal from office.

This development comes as Admiral Ekwe Ibas (rtd) assumes duty as the new Sole Administrator of Rivers State.

There had been speculation about Fubara’s location after he vacated the Rivers State Government House earlier this week.

However, recent reports suggest that he has now moved to Bayelsa, where he is allegedly being accommodated by Governor Douye Diri.

Fubara’s suspension follows a state of emergency declaration by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

The decision was linked to pipeline vandalism and the prolonged political crisis in Rivers State.
