Steve Michalik Early Life
On January 8, 1949, Steve Michalik was born in Brooklyn, New York. He wanted to be a professional bodybuilder when he was younger.
He was quite little and had not participated in any activities as a result of his condition when he was 12 years old.
Steve received his primary and secondary schooling at Thomas A. Edison Voc and Tech High School in New York City.
Soon after graduating from high school, he pursued bodybuilding. Bob Morales, meantime, did not finish his graduate studies.

Steve Michalik Career
Steve, a resident of Brooklyn, New York, finished third in the Teenage Mr. America – AAU competition in 1968.
He was later crowned Mr. Western New York State in 1969. Steve competed in several bodybuilding competitions in 1971, including Mr. Apollo and Mr. USA.
Furthermore, after winning Mr. America in 1972, Steve Michalik was dubbed “Most Muscular.” Among other things, he competed in the Grand Prix, Night of Champions, and World Pro Championships.
Michalik appeared frequently on The Mike Douglas Show between 1972 and 1975. After retiring from competitive bodybuilding, he made the biographical documentary Pumping Iron II: The Women in 1985.
In 2004, Steve Michalik was also featured on Donny Deutsch’s comedy talk show The Big Idea. On television, he has appeared in documentaries including Adventures in Time: the National Geographic Millennium Special, The Man Whose Arms Exploded, and Science of Steroids.
Cause of Death

Thomasina Competello Michalik’s late husband, Steve Competello Michalik, struggled with health concerns throughout his bodybuilding career.
Due to his steroid use, his bodybuilding coach advised him to quit bodyweight lifting in the 1980s.
Steve used steroids during bodybuilding competitions, which resulted in a heart attack, baseball-sized liver tumours, and kidney disease. He underwent kidney transplant surgery in 2011.
After the operation, Michalik stopped using steroids and began living a healthier lifestyle. He continued to train and motivate several young and aspiring bodybuilders at his gym.
Steve, on the other hand, suffered from depression for years after discontinuing the use of the steroid pills. He afterwards chose to commit suicide by shooting himself in the wound. Furthermore, his wife, Thomasina, discovered him dead at their house on May 24, 2012.
Personal Life
Steve, the late CEO and founder of Atomic Fitness, reflected on his best days with his childhood sweetheart, Thomasina Competello Michalik. In front of their closest friends and family, the couple married in a low-key ceremony.
Thomasina was Steve’s source of inspiration when it came to marriage. She was the driving force behind his greatest accomplishments to date.
She also serves as the president of NextStep Planning, Inc., a well-known financial organization.
The blessing was given to the couple after the birth of their first child, Steven Andrew Michalik, Jr. Their son is now a happily married man with two beautiful children with his adored wife, Melissa Michalik (Steve’s daughter-in-law).
