Spurs boss Postecoglou delighted with team’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is delighted at his team’s performance in their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.
“I enjoy every day of it, and I want the players to enjoy every day of it. Not because we’re top-of-the-table, but because we’re living the dream, mate,” Postecoglou said.
Spurs secured an away win on Friday evening to help them extend their unbeaten run to ten games and move five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Captain Son Heung-Min was once again on the scoresheet, doubling the North Londoners’ advantage after Joel Ward’s own goal broke the deadlock shortly after half-time.
A late Jordan Ayew strike and pressure from Palace was unable to deny Tottenham all three points.
Postecoglou praised his team’s commitment to hold Palace’s pressure in the latter stages of the game.
“I just really liked the way we handled it tonight. It’s a difficult venue, they are a very well-drilled team defensively, and going into it, I knew it wasn’t going to be an open game, and we weren’t going to get bags of chances,” he said.
The Australian manager also emphasized the importance of giving supporters joy, belief, and hope. “That is what football clubs are there for. We need to keep feeding into that,” he added.
