Sheikh Jassim is not giving up his dream of owning a Premier League club, and is now rumoured to be considering a bid for Liverpool, Manchester United's arch-rivals
Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim is reportedly considering the possibility of buying Liverpool, after withdrawing Manchester United bid.
Sheikh Jassim had pursued full control of Manchester United from the Glazers for a year but decided to exit the race, after being snubbed.
This development occurred as INEOS owner and a diehard Manchester United fan, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is reportedly closing in on acquiring a 25% stake in the club, despite his ownership of Ligue 1 side Nice.
Sheikh Jassim is not giving up his dream of owning a Premier League club, and is now rumoured to be considering a bid for Liverpool, Manchester United’s arch-rivals.
Recall that Fenway Sports Group, the owners of Liverpool, publicly declared their willingness to entertain offers for the club in November last year.
Meanwhile, during a Daily Mail podcast, it was suggested that a potential Liverpool bid could be within the Qatar business man’s reach, having earlier set aside about $8 billion (£6.57 billion) for the United project.
