Sex Trafficking: P. Diddy under suicide watch after being denied bail
Following his recent arrest on multiple charges, American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed on suicide watch while awaiting trial.
According to People Magazine on September 19, 2024, sources indicate that due to the high-profile nature of the case, Diddy is under surveillance at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center after being denied bail twice.
Diddy was arrested on Monday, September 16, 2024, facing serious charges including sex trafficking, kidnapping, and racketeering.
Prosecutors claim that since at least 2008, the rapper allegedly operated a criminal enterprise that involved drugs and violence to coerce women into fulfilling his sexual demands.
In a bid for bail, Diddy’s legal team offered $50 million, including his $48 million mansion on Miami’s Star Island as collateral. However, the court denied his request, citing him as a flight risk. His plea for house arrest under the condition of “no female visitors” was also rejected by the judge.
If convicted on all charges, the rapper and music mogul could face a prison sentence ranging from 15 years to life. Diddy is set to return to court next week as the investigation unfolds.
Notably, during a raid on his Los Angeles and Miami properties in March 2024, where authorities discovered 1,000 bottles of lubricant and three AR-15 rifles.
