Serie A: Juventus, Paul Pogba near contract termination despite reduced doping ban
Juventus and Paul Pogba are close to finalizing terms for a contract termination, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano.
The French midfielder, who tested positive for a banned substance in August 2023 following a match against Udinese, has been banned from football since February.
However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has reduced his ban from four years to 18 months, allowing Pogba to return to football in January 2025.
Despite this favourable decision, Juventus and Pogba have mutually agreed that his return will not be with the Italian side.
Both parties are looking for a fresh start and discussions about his contract termination are ongoing, with talks expected to resume on Monday (today) following the CAS verdict.
There are growing rumours of Pogba potentially moving to Major League Soccer (MLS), where a number of French talents have recently made their way, including Olivier Giroud.
