Serie A clubs express interest in Casadei after Chelsea snub from pre-season tour

Fiorentina have shown interest in signing 21-year-old Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei, following his exclusion from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the United States.

Despite working with Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca at Leicester last season, Casadei was not selected for the Blues’ pre-season friendlies against Wrexham, Celtic, Club America, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Fiorentina’s new coach Raffaele Palladino is keen on exploring a loan deal for Casadei.

Former World Cup winner Francesco Graziani has also voiced support for Casadei’s return to Serie A. “Chelsea signed him because of his potential, thinking that they’d make a bargain for that fee, but it was not the case.

“I hope he returns to Serie A and that some Italian clubs will be interested in him. He will develop much more here than at other European clubs,” he added.

Football Italia reports that Casadei’s situation has also attracted attention from Lazio and Bologna, who are reportedly interested in securing a loan deal for the Inter academy product if he becomes available.
