Sergio Ramos’ wife Rubio refuses to move to Mexico after defender’s Monterrey transfer

Sergio Ramos’ wife, Pilar Rubio, has decided not to follow the Real Madrid legend to Mexico after his recent move to Liga MX side Monterrey.

According to the Daily Mail, Rubio, who has moved with Ramos to Paris and Seville in the past, has opted to stay in Madrid to focus on her career as a Spanish television personality.

She has upcoming commitments on El Desafio and Maestros de la Costura Celebrity and is reportedly tired of relocating.

Spanish journalist Javi de Hoyos cited a source close to Rubio, stating:

“She went to Paris with him, then Seville, but when Ramos made this decision, she said: ‘This time, I will not give in.

“I have already given in twice. Now I am staying in Madrid, and the family is staying here.’”

Ramos, 38, joined Monterrey in the early stages of the 2024/25 Clausura season after many believed he was nearing retirement.

He will wear the number 93 shirt, in tribute to his famous 2014 Champions League final goal.
