Saidya Haruna bags 6 months jail term for slandering

Sadiya Haruna, a Kannywood actress, was convicted to six months in prison without the possibility of a fee by a magistrate’s court in Kano state.

After a clip she shared on social media went viral, she was charged in court by the Kano State Hisbah Board on allegations of slandering her ex-boyfriend and musician, Isa.

Sadiya was seen in the video calling Isa a homosexuuaal, a basstarrd, and an incurable philanderer. She also said that the star insisted that she have anal intercourse with him.

A Sharia court in Kano state sentenced her of profanity and indecent behavior in August 2021. The court, chaired over by Justice Muntari Garba Dandago, condemned her for slandering her ex boyfriend’s reputation on Monday, February 7.
