Ruben Amorim heads straight to Carrington upon arrival in Manchester
Manchester United’s newly appointed head coach Ruben Amorim is set to head directly to Carrington, the club’s training ground.
He is expected to land in Manchester on Monday afternoon.
Sky Sports reports that although Amorim is still awaiting the finalization of his work visa, he plans to meet with staff and begin discussions on his vision for the team.
The Portuguese manager’s contract, which runs until June 2027 with an option for an additional year, officially starts today.
Amorim’s arrival comes on the heels of an exciting finale with Sporting, where he led his former club to a thrilling 4-2 comeback victory against Braga.
His imminent tasks include deciding the future of interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who wrapped up his own interim period with an impressive unbeaten run, highlighted by a 3-0 win over Leicester City.
Whether Van Nistelrooy will remain in a coaching capacity will depend on Amorim’s decisions regarding his backroom team.
United’s first game under Amorim’s leadership will be an away fixture against Ipswich in the Premier League on November 24.
