Rose Barkley, two others confirmed as Aston Villa announce three signings in on day
Aston Villa have had a busy day in the transfer market, completing three signings, including the return of Ross Barkley from Luton Town.
Barkley, who previously spent the 2020-2021 season on loan at Villa, was the third signing on Monday.
Earlier in the day, the club secured Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus, part of the deal that saw Douglas Luiz move to the Italian giants for nearly €50 million.
Barkley joined Villa on loan from Chelsea in September 2020.
During his loan spell, he made an immediate impact. He notably helped Villa beat Liverpool 7-2, where he was on the scoresheet.
Barkley’s career began at Everton, leading to a move to Chelsea in 2018.
In addition to the day’s signings, Villa had already bolstered their squad with Ian Maatsen from Chelsea for £37.5 million.
Maatsen, who helped Borussia Dortmund reach the Champions League final last season, will strengthen Villa’s backline.
Villa saw academy talent Omari Kellyman move to Chelsea for £19 million, and secured Lewis Dobbin from Everton.
