Residents flood Ilorin streets as police officers clash with soldiers
Residents in Ilorin flooded the streets after a video showing a violent altercation between police officers and soldiers went viral online.
The video, shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter), was posted by @General_Somto and shows soldiers armed with guns and sticks, making threats while patrolling the road, seemingly waiting for a confrontation with the police.
The cause of the conflict was not explained in the footage.
The caption accompanying the video reads: “Challenge Ilorin, Kwara State on fire, police and soldiers dey fight.” Another video clip attached to the post shows a few police officers engaging with one of the soldiers.
As the incident unfolded, many residents were seen shouting and watching the confrontation. The video quickly gained traction, prompting many to comment and share their opinions on the situation.
