Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez set to make La Liga return after four years
James Rodriguez is set to make a return to La Liga, four years after leaving Spanish capital side Real Madrid.
The 33-year-old Colombian midfielder, who has always been on the move since rejoining former boss Carlo Ancelotti at Everton, recently terminated his contract with Sao Paulo in Brazil.
Rodriguez reportedly has a preference for a La Liga return, with multiple reports indicating he has reached an agreement in principle with Rayo Vallecano.
Following his impressive performances in Copa America, where he was named MVP, James has been in talks with the Madrid-based club.
The deal, which will see James sign a contract until the end of the current season, is expected to help bolster Rayo Vallecano’s squad as they look to avoid relegation.
His arrival is seen as a major boost for the club’s manager Inigo Perez.
