Real Madrid end pre-season with 2-1 win against Chelsea
Real Madrid wrapped up their pre-season with a win over Chelsea, bouncing back from consecutive defeats against AC Milan and Barcelona.
The match saw the return of key players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, both starting and making notable contributions for their side.
Vinicius was instrumental in the winning goal, sliding an angled ball behind Chelsea’s defense for Brahim Diaz, who rounded goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen and finished from a tight angle.
Diaz’s performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
Real Madrid began the game strongly, frequently breaking through Chelsea’s defense. Lucas Vazquez scored the opener with a deflected shot that rolled past Jorgensen.
However, Chelsea responded with a goal from Noni Madueke, assisted by Enzo Fernandez, five minutes before halftime.
In the second half, Andriy Lunin, who replaced the starting goalkeeper, made a crucial save early on to maintain Real Madrid’s lead.
Carlo Ancelotti will now focus on preparing his team for the European Supercup match against Atalanta in Poland.
