Rashford still eyeing Barcelona move despite Villa loan – report

Marcus Rashford remains hopeful of securing a move to Barcelona next summer, despite Aston Villa having the option for a permanent deal after his loan spell.

The 27-year-old left Manchester United on deadline day following a fallout with manager Ruben Amorim, opting for a short-term switch to Villa Park in search of regular game time.

Rashford had been linked with a move to Spain, with his agents, who are also his brothers, holding discussions with Barcelona.

However, the La Liga giants ultimately did not make a serious push for his signing.

Barcelona sporting director Deco recently downplayed their interest, stating:

“It’s true there was talk of Rashford—but we weren’t desperately looking for a player either.”

Despite this, sources close to Rashford claim he still hopes a strong run of form at Villa could reignite Barcelona’s pursuit.

Rashford showed glimpses of his quality in Villa’s 1-1 draw against Ipswich, striking the bar with a free-kick that led to Ollie Watkins’ equalizer.
