Quack medical doctor harvests patient’s kidney in Jos
A doctor, Mr Noah Kekere, has been caught after a woman who had been operated on in his hospital, Mrs Kahinde Kamal Busari, discovered one of her kidneys missing.
Mrs Kahinde had undergone an appendicitis operation in his hospital, Murna Clinic and Maternity in 2017 where the organ harvesting had taken place.
Six months after the surgery, she had complained repeatedly of stomach pain, and body weakness which led her to seeking medical attention from him and he gave her drugs to relieve the pain but it kept coming and going which led to her reaching out to doctors at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for a permanent solution.
Here, she was sadly informed that one of her kidneys was missing after a full body scan was carried out. As soon as her husband was informed, he immediately took some men of the police force to arrest Dr Noah. The doctor agreed with the results of the scan but insisted that he didn’t tamper with her organs. After another body scan was carried out, he then claimed responsibility but blamed the devil for his actions.
He has since been detained but was said to have been exhibiting mental illness on Saturday evening after his arrest. He has now been transferred to the Psychiatric ward at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, for proper assessment.
