PSG hold talks with Vinicius Junior after Real Madrid contract rejection

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly opened discussions with Vinicius Junior’s entourage after the Brazilian rejected Real Madrid’s latest contract extension offer.

Negotiations between Madrid and Vinicius took place two weeks ago, but the 24-year-old turned down the proposal, believing the financial terms did not reflect his value.

Saudi Arabian officials have also entered the race, reportedly offering a staggering €1 billion (£834m) contract over five years, which could tempt the forward away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to Sky Sports, PSG have held informal talks with Vinicius’ representatives while closely monitoring the situation.

The Ligue 1 champions see him as a potential marquee signing, especially after Kylian Mbappé’s departure.

Despite being contracted to Madrid until June 2027, reports suggest growing tension within the dressing room.

Senior figures, including Luka Modric, are reportedly frustrated with Vinicius’ defensive work rate and frequent disputes with referees.

This has fueled speculation that some within the club may not oppose selling him, particularly with Saudi Arabia reportedly preparing a €300m (£250m) bid.

However, Madrid remain determined to keep Vinicius, with club president Florentino Perez viewing him as a key part of the club’s future.

An improved offer could yet be tabled to convince him to stay.
