PSG deny €250m bid for Lamine Yamal
Paris Saint-Germain have strongly denied reports claiming they made a €250 million offer for Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal during the summer transfer window.
Spanish media sparked the rumour following comments by Enric Masip, advisor to Barcelona president Joan Laporta, during an interview with El Chiringuito.
Masip suggested that Laporta rejected an offer of €250 million from an unnamed French club, adding that the bid was never seriously considered.
PSG, however, dismissed the claims outright. Speaking to L’Équipe, the French champions stated, “We deny this story a million per cent,” adding that such a bid would have been financially impossible during the summer.
The club did acknowledge that sporting advisor Luís Campos had made inquiries about Yamal’s situation, describing the contact as routine.
Campos is known for gathering information and tracking potential targets.
Yamal, 17, is considered one of the brightest talents in world football.
The Barcelona winger has been turning heads with his performances this season and is seen as a cornerstone of the club’s future.
