Police officer, wife, attack, kill each other over infidelity

A senior police officer and his wife, have attacked each other, leading to their death over an infidelity issue in Ekiti State.

The Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident, stating that it happened on Tuesday, in the Ita-Eku area along Igirigiri Road.

It was gathered that the policeman identified as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Leramo Caleb, allegedly engaged in a heated argument with his wife, Tate, over accusations of infidelity.

It was reported that the wife allegedly attacked the officer and cut off his manhood.

In retaliation, the enraged policeman picked up a machete and hacked his wife to death, smashing her head and face in a gruesome act of violence.

It was further gathered that the late officer was in his second marriage, which, unfortunately, ended in tragedy.

The police spokesperson said,
“We got a report that a couple, husband and wife died and we went to the scene and took them to the hospital where they were confirmed dead.

“We suspected a case of violence between the couple and a knife was recovered at the scene.

The police have commenced a proper investigation into the matter, but it is true, the man was a police officer.
